I wrote a new blog post relating psychology research I've been reading to issues in tabletop roleplaying games and RPG design. This one explores "Construal Level Theory", and I think it has a lot of interesting implications for a wide variety of issues related to abstraction, concrete fiction, and psychological distance.

Have you seen that Joe Mcdaldno is looking for patrons via the Patreon crowdfunding website?

Unlike Kickstarter, this is for funding his experimental, little games rather than a single big project. You pay per game he creates (a new one roughly every 3-5 weeks apparently) and can set a monthly limit to ensure it doesn't get too expensive.

I certainly think it is worth throwing him a couple of dollars in appreciation. Who's with me?
