I still need to figure out how I will get my hands on the physical books. The shipping are killing me .... But I've read the 70' book and it's really nice. Factual more than analytic but nice nonetheless.
I hope we can. Fred Hicks / Evil Hat plan to use Backerkit to manage add-ons and shipping costs, so if we can freely add books and ensure that they ship together at costs, it should work reasonably well. However "We're still working out how we might handle the add-ons for non-US destinations, given the flux in shipping pricing. Bottom line, we'll probably support it, but there's post-GenCon math that needs to be crunched to sort out how." (Fred Hicks)
I also suggested to use a fulfillment house in Europe, the way the Guide to Glorantha staff choose.
Another question we've gotten is whether or not folks can increase their pledges for more books (to get duplicate copies, etc). The answer is yes! BackerKit will make it possible to do this after the campaign is over, but if you'd like to pledge more now, we certainly welcome it (it'll help with that $90k goal at the least). Here's the breakdown:
Add 1 copy of any softcover volume — Increase your pledge by $20 per additional book
Add 1 copy of any hardcover volume — Increase your pledge by $30 per additional book
Yes, you may create a mixed type shipment of softcovers and hardcovers this way, if you like. We'll make it work. :) We'll also see if we can include an extra set of bookmarks for every four books in your shipment.
For international backers, increasing the size of your shipment beyond four books will increase shipping costs beyond those projected — we'll work out some sort of reasonable per-book surcharge where we can, in BackerKit, but if you want to estimate it, figure the projected costs divided by four are as high as we'd go on a per-book basis for shipments with 5 or more books.
HOWEVER
Our original plan was to provide a discount code to folks to buy the hardcovers straight from DriveThruRPG through their print-on-demand program. That plan is still in effect!
But, we recognize that some folks may want their bookmarks along with their print-on-demand hardcovers, so we're going to add a couple hardcover-oriented reward tiers today. See the tiers to the right: FOURTH LEVEL HARDCOVER and PRESTIGE CLASS HARDCOVER to start.
These hardcover tiers are going to be USA-only, in large part because we've heard it's much more cost effective for international folk to order print-on-demand from DriveThru, as it may result in books that are printed more locally, massively reducing the shipping cost.

I am investigating to see if a group purchase is possible... (I wonder where I got that idea.)
RépondreSupprimerDo you think we can really mutualize the shipping cost ?
RépondreSupprimerI don't see anu options that could allow us to do that.

La version arbre mort risque d'exploser niveau fdp, donc je passe mon tour. J'ai juste craqué pour les pdfs.
