If we were to take Tumblr (and screencaps in general) as an indicator of the kind of scenes that really grab people in media and extrapolate it to RPGs, then awesome fights would be bumped from the #1 thing in RPGs to maybe #4 behind:

1. Moments of Adorable Dorkiness
2. Really Awesome Coats
3. Characters respecting THE HELL out of each other

I think I'd be ok with that.
